| FEEDBACK
FROM STUDENTS |
TROUSERS
Well, what can I say, absolutely loved it again.
The warm-up/conditioning session at the start was great,
showed me how much harder I should be working and it was
good to dedicate some more time to that aspect.
To anyone thinking about attending a workshop, I highly
recommend them! |

A number of activities were introduced at Lincoln II to promote

No pain, No gain!!
This workshop was probably the toughest workout we've
inflicted on students. |

TUMO
Ever so slightly awesome...! |

Each workshop finished with a 10 minute cool down and static
stretching session designed to decrease body temperature,
remove waste products from the working muscles and to increase
range of movement

MORE PICS FROM THE DAY
The Lincoln II Parkour Workshops differed from our first visit
to the region in 2006. Although there was plenty of opportunity
for students to get one-on-one coaching in Parkour technique,
we also wanted to emphasize the importance of physical conditioning.
WHY?
There are marked differences in coordination, strength and
stamina between a youth and an adult. In young athletes, bone-tendon-muscle
units, growth areas within bones, and ligaments experience
uneven growth patterns, leaving them susceptible to injury.
It is accepted by Orthopaedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine
bodies the world over that young people need to be in proper
physical condition to play any sport.
Students therefore were put through a grueling 30 minute warm-up
(see left column) and workout before parkour technique was
even mentioned.

The workshop was such a great atmosphere, everybody
was training, sweating, and giving it all they've got!
Have to say a big thank you to Brad, Jason and Stuart
from WWJ for teaching good techniques and physically pushing
me. Motivating me to go that one step further |
