A
TOP-RATING TV SHOW, A PEUGEOT 207 AND (as James May called them)
A COUPLE OF YOUNG BLOKES WEARING FUNNY TROUSERS. THE ULTIMATE
STREET CHALLENGE!
In
December 2005 Worldwide JAM presented a concept to the BBC's
enormously successful motoring program 'Top Gear'. Continuing
the shows 'Man Vs Machine' specials, the premise was for two
members of Worldwide JAM's 'Street
Team', taking on one of the hosts in a race through an urban
landscape. Previous extreme sports episodes included an Audi
RS 4 Vs Free Climber, Renault Clio Vs a Mountain Biker and even
a Mazda MX-5 Vs a Greyhound.
On 23rd July 2007 at 8.00pm (BBC2) the finished film directed
by Nigel Simpkiss will be aired for the first time.
Hosted
by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, Top Gear
is one of the crown jewels of BBC scheduling as well as one
of its greatest exports. The show has a UK audience of
6m and is exported to over 90 countries around the world. Globally
the program is watched by over 350m.
Although the filming took 4 days, it actually took 7 months
to get from concept to broadcast. Since filming in May, everyone
associated with the project has been waiting eagerly for Nigel's
masterpiece.
On Wednesday, 19th July in the stifling heat of the Top Gear
studios at Dunsfold (hottest day in July on record) we finally
got to see the spectacular results.
If
you miss the Sunday broadcast, you can catch it again on:
BBC2 Tue 25 Jul, 19:00 - 20:00
BBC3 Sat 29 Jul, 19:00 - 20:00
