THE
LISSES TRIP
By Daniel
Ilabaca |
Since
an early age Extreme sports have influenced the way I move
and the way I see the world around me. I feel now that I have
always been doing Parkour but it didn't have a name and to
this day still doesn't for me. I always thought that I was
alone in what I did.
At secondary school I always seemed set apart from my friends
because I was always climbing trees and running and jumping
over obstacles.
Lisses for me was a journey of discovery because I had always
wanted to know about this place that had inspired a group
of friends to take a child hood game and turn it into the
discipline that many know today.
Moving around Lisses and seeing the places they used to play
and later trained in made me realise how similar our backgrounds
are.
So for any out there reading this let me say that its
well worth the visit, but dont expect loads of pubs,
cinemas and shopping precincts. Lisses is simply a Parkour
playground, and what else do you need!?

Daniel recently featured in the much publicised Mike Christie
TVC for Rogers Wireless (Canada). Christie acknowledged that
Parkour had come a long way since Jump Britain.
This
is quite simply the most skilled team Ive ever seen.
Parkour has moved on so much in the last three years, and
to put a French master like Stephane Vigroux together with
amazing young British talents like Chase Armitage, Daniel
Ilabaca, Kerbie, and all the others, was better than I
could have dreamed.
