Grip:
Outstanding! The sole is made of a sticky rubber compound,
and is also very hard wearing. The grip pattern is also
very good. The only flaw I have found, is that out of
the box, the sole has tiny rubber points all over the
sole. Within an hour of training these are gone, and
the sole then has adequate surface area to be effective
for Parkour.
4/5 - needs to be worn in.
Shock absorption: The shoes themselves have adequate
shock absorption for a competent traceur. Fortunately
the shoes come with an optional insole for added impact
protection. The insoles with this product are rated
as '2 arrow'. But you can get Inov-8 insoles with more
impact protection should you wish. I'd recommend the
'4 arrow' insoles for beginners who haven't mastered
landings yet. Once you've improved your strength / technique,
you can remove the insoles.
5/5 - something for everyone!
Weight:
Very lightweight design. These shoes weigh far less
than a regular running shoe, and only slightly more
than wushu shoes.

| WHY
DID YOU CHOOSE THIS PRODUCT? |
I
chose this product after finding them by accident on a
cross-country obstacle course website. The main features
that appealed to me were the rubber compound on the sole,
the grip pattern, and the abrasion-resistant toe cover.
Inov-8 have been making mountain-running, obstacle course,
and hard-wearing cross country trainers for many years,
and really know what they're talking about. After a brief
look around their website, I chose the f-lite 250 as the
ideal Parkour shoe. It hasn't let me down yet!

COMFORT
I am a UK 9.5, so that's the size to chose to buy. When
I first tried them on, the shoes were very snug. When
I was training in them, they fit like a glove. The sole
is thin enough to give a lot of feedback, and they're
very comfortable. However when I was resting while wearing
the shoes, they felt a little too tight. This was resolved
by removing the supplied insole. If you're going to use
insoles in these shoes, I'd suggest getting half a size
larger than you are.
3/5 not great to chill out in them unless you remove
the optional insole.
DURABILITY
One of the key design features of these shoes is the abrasion
resistant material on the toe. The sticky rubber sole
is also much harder wearing than I thought it'd be. For
£60, you'll want a shoe that's going to last a while.
Because these shoes weren't designed for Parkour, they
can still wear on the sides when you roll, but no more
or less than any other shoe.
4/5 Very good for a lightweight trainer
STYLE
I personally like the look of them, but each to their
own. They're more 'street' than regular running shoes,
but not as aesthetically pleasing as a pair of dunks.
I wouldn't wear them out and about, training only. But
the functionality of these shoes makes them worth wearing
for training even if they were bright pink with bells
on!
3/5 I like them, but maybe not to everyones taste
VALUE FOR MONEY
For £60 I'd expect a functional trainer, that's
going to last a while. That's exactly what I got. Ideally
I'd like them a little cheaper, but they're well worth
£60, and will easily last as long as two pairs of
£30 trainers.
4/5 Worth every penny. But still more than I like
to spend on shoes.
|
| CONCLUSION |
|
A
very good shoe for Parkour. The grippy rubber sole is
very forgiving once worn in. The abrasion resistant
toe saves the front of your shoes from wearing out in
wall runs / arm-jumps. The removable insoles make this
shoe accessible for everyone. Only down points are the
need to wear them in and the £60 price tag. The
wearing in of the shoes will only take around an hour
of training, and they are worth every penny of the £60.
All in all, among the best shoes I've ever trained in.
4/5 a fantastic training shoe. Not great for
wearing socially though.
