FROM
SINNERS INTO WINNERS

As
some of you know, I have been involved in a teaching
project for the past three months
at the Furness school in Kent.
The project was originally meant to teach the boys the
basics of Parkour, and for a dance choreographer to
fit those moves and 'theme' into a dance - all to be
performed on stage.
After a few weeks, we decided that the Parkour side
of things would be lost if we put it into a dance.
We decided instead to make a film featuring Parkour
AND Dance seperately.
This morning, after much sleep-deprivation, I finished
editing the video. (I'm not a film-maker, and don't
pretend to be. But I did my best)
I'll give you some background on the school;
The Furness School is a special school for children
who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. In
another words a school for 'bad' or 'disturbed' kids.
The boys at this school have been kicked out of all
their local schools for violence / anger / drugs / attitude.
Furness semi-residential, with very small classes and
VERY patient teaching staff.
I'd like you to keep that in mind when you watch the
video.
This film was made after 8 weeks with the boys, the
first challenge was getting the kids interested enough
to participate, then geting them to learn some basic
skills.
On the day of filming, the boys were incredibly well
behaved and did exactly as they were told.
This film was shot in 5 hours.
.....anyway, enough of me rambling on. Here's the
vid.
