U.S. band Dixie
Chicks
www.dixiechicks.com
The Dixie Chicks formed in 1989 in Dallas, Texas. After
years of struggle and personnel changes, the group achieved
large-scale country and pop commercial success starting in
the late 1990s, with hit songs such as "Wide Open Spaces",
"Cowboy Take Me Away", and "Long Time Gone".

They
became known for their lively group personae, instrumental
virtuosity, fashion sense, and outspoken views. In particular,
Natalie Maines' public criticism of President George W. Bush
on the eve of the 2003 invasion of Iraq led to considerable
controversy for the group, causing them to lose a large part
of their core country audience, but gain a new if somewhat
smaller audience in the process.
Dixie
Chicks are the highest selling female group in any genre.
They hold the distinction of being the only country group
in history and the only female group of any genre to earn
back-to-back Diamond Awards signifying 10 million in record
sales.

PHOTOGRAPHY
AND FILMS OF WORLDWIDE
JAM MEMBERS FEATURE IN NEW DIXIE CHICKS VID
U.S. band Dixie Chicks who have just commenced an extensive
tour of their native homeland, stumbled across Worldwide JAM
and Parkour recently.
Apparently they were so taken with the visual dynamics that
the call went out to fast-track a video that will be shown
on a massive screen behind the band during their performances.
After trawling through the Pics&Vids
pages of the Worldwide JAM site, London based production company
'The Film Factory' invited a number of photographers and filmmakers
to submit images and footage to be re-edited into a four minute
film.
The actual screen used to play-out the film is very low resolution
and nothing like your TV or computer monitor. As such the
completed edit had to use images and footage with high levels
of contrast that could be easily viewed by the audience even
if they were down in the mosh-pit or way back in the next
state.
